How to install the drivers (recommended order)
- Chipset (Intel Chipset, then Ricoh card reader) so Windows recognizes the motherboard devices correctly.
- Video for your graphics chip and Windows architecture.
- Audio (IDT HD Audio).
- Network: LAN first, then Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and WiMAX if your unit has them.
- Touchpad (and the Digitech touchscreen on E6410 ATG units).
- BIOS last, and only if you need it.
Run each downloaded .exe as administrator, follow the prompts, and restart when asked.
Common problems and fixes
- No Wi-Fi after install: you probably installed the wrong card driver. Check Device Manager; Intel Centrino cards need the Intel package, Dell Wireless cards need the Dell WLAN package.
- Screen stuck at low resolution: the video driver is missing or mismatched. Confirm the chip name, then reinstall the correct 32-bit or 64-bit package.
- Touchpad gestures not working: install the Dell Multi-Touch Touchpad driver and restart.
- Installer says the system is not supported: the package is for different hardware or a different Windows architecture. Re-check Step 1 of "Identify your hardware".
Frequently asked questions
Which E6410 drivers should I install first?
Install the chipset drivers first, then video, audio, network and touchpad. Update the BIOS last, and only when needed.
How do I know whether I need 32-bit or 64-bit drivers?
Open Start, right-click Computer, choose Properties, and read "System type". Audio, BIOS, chipset, touchpad and network packages on this page are shared; only the video drivers differ.
Can I use these drivers on Windows 10?
These packages are listed by Dell for Windows 7. Microsoft ended Windows 7 support on January 14, 2020, and compatibility on newer Windows versions varies by driver. Check Dell's support page for your Service Tag to see which operating systems Dell lists for your exact unit.
What is the difference between the Intel GMA HD and Intel HD Graphics drivers?
Dell lists both for this model with different version numbers (8.15.10.2993 and 8.15.10.2281). If one does not install, try the other, as long as it matches your Windows architecture.
Is the Digitech touchscreen driver needed on every E6410?
No. It is intended for E6410 ATG units that have the touchscreen. Standard units can skip it.
