Dell Latitude E5470 Drivers: Windows 10, 8.1 & 7 Download
The Dell Latitude E5470 is a 14-inch business laptop from the Skylake generation (6th-gen Intel Core) that is still common in offices and second-hand shops. After a clean Windows install, the typical leftovers are no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, a screen stuck at a low resolution, an unrecognised card reader and a few "Unknown device" entries in Device Manager. This page lists only the drivers that fix those problems, grouped by Windows version, with the file version and size shown before you click.

- Only the essential drivers are listed. Utility and hotkey packages (WiGig, accelerometer, airplane-mode and WLAN switch drivers, USB Ethernet adapter drivers) were left out on purpose.
- Last reviewed: October 2026. If a link no longer works, open Dell Support and search with your laptop's Service Tag.
- Microsoft ended security updates for Windows 7 in January 2020, for Windows 8.1 in January 2023 and for Windows 10 in October 2025 (paid extended updates aside), so plan to keep such a laptop away from sensitive logins.
Which drivers does your E5470 need?
Dell sold this model with different wireless and graphics options, so not every package below fits every unit. Check these first:
- Which Wi-Fi card? Open Device Manager → Network adapters. A name starting with "Intel Dual Band Wireless" needs the Intel Wi-Fi driver, plus the separate Intel Bluetooth driver for Bluetooth. A name containing "Qualcomm" needs the Qualcomm package, which installs Wi-Fi and Bluetooth together.
- Which graphics? Open Device Manager → Display adapters. Every unit has Intel HD Graphics. Install the AMD Radeon R7 M360 / M370 driver only if an AMD chip is listed too.
- "Unknown device" entries? A "PCI Simple Communications Controller" is the Intel Management Engine. An unknown security or fingerprint device points to the Dell ControlVault driver.
- 32-bit or 64-bit? Windows 10 and 8.1 packages on this page are 64-bit. For Windows 7, check Control Panel → System → "System type" and use the Windows column in the table.
Dell Latitude E5470 BIOS
This is one system package for all Windows versions. It also covers the E5270, E5570 and Precision 3510, so only use it if your model is the Latitude E5470. Update only when you need the fix, and never interrupt it.

Windows 7 needs the most manual installs. If your USB ports or USB keyboard do not respond after setup, install the Intel USB xHCI driver first.

Recommended install order
- Chipset (Intel Chipset Device Software), then the Intel Management Engine package. On Windows 7 and 8.1 add the USB 3.0 driver here. Restart when asked.
- Graphics: Intel HD Graphics first, then the AMD Radeon driver only if your unit has an AMD chip.
- Network: LAN, then Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (the Qualcomm package covers both; with an Intel card install the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers separately).
- Audio, touchpad, card reader and, if you have a fingerprint or smartcard reader, ControlVault2.
- BIOS last, and only if needed. Keep the AC adapter plugged in, close other programs and do not turn the laptop off while the firmware is being written.
Common problems and quick fixes
- No Wi-Fi networks, or Bluetooth missing: you probably installed the wrong wireless package. Check the card name in Device Manager: Intel cards need the Intel Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers, Qualcomm cards need the Qualcomm package.
- Low resolution or stretched screen: the graphics driver is missing. Install the Intel HD Graphics driver for your Windows version and restart.
- "PCI Simple Communications Controller" shows an error: install the Intel Management Engine package.
- Touchpad scrolling or gestures do not work: install the Dell Touchpad driver and check the settings in Mouse properties.
- The airplane-mode or Wi-Fi hotkey does nothing: Dell ships a separate hotkey or radio-switch package for that. It is not listed here, so search for it on Dell Support with your Service Tag.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need both the Intel and the AMD graphics driver?
Only if your laptop has the optional AMD Radeon R7 M360 / M370. Units with just Intel HD Graphics need only the Intel driver.
Is the Latitude E5470 compatible with Windows 11?
Not officially. Its 6th-generation Intel Core processors fall outside Microsoft's supported CPU list for Windows 11, which is why this page covers Windows 10, 8.1 and 7 only.
Can I use the E5470 BIOS on an E5570 or E5270?
Dell publishes one BIOS file for the E5270, E5470, E5570 and Precision 3510. Always download it for your own model and confirm the model name in the BIOS screen first.

Vendors sometimes move files. Open Dell Support, enter your Service Tag and download the same driver name and version from there.
