Complete collection of original HP SoftPaq packages for the Compaq Presario CQ58 notebook.
Choose your operating system below to view the matching Realtek audio, AMD graphics,
Synaptics TouchPad, wireless, LAN, card-reader and BIOS updates.
Important: The CQ58 is a legacy platform (circa 2012–2014). These drivers are the last official releases from HP. Always match the package to the Windows version you are actually running. Installing a Windows 8 package on Windows 7 (or vice-versa) can cause blue screens or non-working devices.
The Compaq Presario CQ58 series used AMD E-series or C-series APUs and a mix of Atheros, Broadcom or Ralink wireless modules depending on the exact SKU. Because hardware configurations vary, several alternative network packages are listed. Install only the wireless/Bluetooth package that matches the chipset reported in Device Manager.
Recommended Installation Order After a Clean Windows Install
Chipset / system (if a dedicated package is available for your model)
Graphics – AMD HD driver
Audio – Realtek HD Audio
Network – LAN first, then Wi-Fi, then Bluetooth
Input – Synaptics TouchPad
Storage – Realtek Card Reader
BIOS – only when a specific fix is required; never interrupt a BIOS flash
Which Package Should You Choose?
Select the operating system that is currently installed on the laptop. Windows 7 and Windows 8 SoftPaqs are not interchangeable even though the hardware is identical. Using the wrong major version can leave devices with yellow exclamation marks or cause system instability.
Notes on Driver Availability
All links point to the original HP SoftPaq FTP repository. These are the final official releases; HP no longer publishes new drivers for the CQ58. File sizes and version numbers are taken from the SoftPaq manifests. If a download fails, the file may have been removed from HP’s servers — in that case search the SoftPaq ID (e.g. sp56679) on alternative trusted archives.
Safety tip: Always create a System Restore point before installing legacy drivers or flashing the BIOS. Keep the laptop plugged into AC power during any BIOS update.
