Before you start

  • Check your Windows edition. Open Control Panel → System and note the System type (32-bit or 64-bit).
  • Install only what matches your laptop. The ThinkPad T410 was sold with different graphics, Wi-Fi, mobile broadband, fingerprint and card reader options, so not every package below applies to you. The notes under each driver say who needs it.
  • Starting from a clean install? Download the Ethernet or Wi-Fi driver on another computer and copy it over on a USB drive, so you can get online first.

Heads-up: Microsoft has ended support for Windows 7 and Windows 8, so they no longer receive security updates. If this laptop goes online, keep your antivirus current and avoid untrusted sites and downloads.

Lenovo ThinkPad T410 drivers for Windows 7 (32-bit & 64-bit)

30 packages are listed for Windows 7. Where a driver comes in separate 32-bit and 64-bit files, each file has its own row and badge. Several packages (NVIDIA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile broadband, fingerprint, smart card) apply only to certain configurations, so read the notes before downloading.

Recommended installation order

Installing in a sensible order avoids missing-device warnings and repeat reboots. Restart when an installer asks you to.

  1. Chipset: the Intel chipset package: Windows 7 · Windows 8.
  2. Graphics: the Intel driver first (Windows 7), then NVIDIA if your laptop has NVIDIA graphics: Windows 7 · Windows 8.
  3. Audio: the Conexant audio driver: Windows 7 · Windows 8.
  4. Network: Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and mobile broadband for the adapters you have: Windows 7 · Windows 8.
  5. Input devices: the UltraNav driver, then the optional utility: Windows 7 · Windows 8.
  6. Hotkeys: Fn-key support: Windows 7 · Windows 8.
  7. Fingerprint reader: only if your ThinkPad has one: Windows 7 · Windows 8.
  8. Card readers: the memory card and smart card drivers: Windows 7.
  9. Camera: the integrated camera driver: Windows 7.
  10. BIOS update: only if you need it, as a separate step, with the AC adapter connected and no other installer running: Windows 7 · Windows 8.

How to identify the right drivers for your hardware

Open Device Manager (in Windows 8 right-click the Start corner and choose Device Manager; in Windows 7 right-click Computer, choose Manage, then Device Manager). Then use these checks:

  • Graphics: expand Display adapters. Intel HD Graphics is always present. If an NVIDIA entry also appears, your laptop has NVIDIA graphics and needs that package too.
  • Wi-Fi: expand Network adapters and read the wireless adapter name, then match it to the Wi-Fi package in the table.
  • Mobile broadband: a modem entry (Leadcore or Qualcomm Gobi) means you need a Wireless WAN driver. No entry and no SIM slot means you can skip them.
  • Fingerprint reader: look under Biometric devices, or check for a small sensor near the touchpad. No reader means you can skip the fingerprint software.
  • Card readers: memory card readers appear under System devices or Memory technology devices, and smart card readers under Smart card readers.
  • Camera: look under Imaging devices. No entry usually means the laptop has no webcam.

Tip: Anything marked with a yellow warning icon in Device Manager is a missing driver. Right-click it, open Properties → Details → Hardware Ids, and use those IDs to work out which package above it belongs to.

Troubleshooting common driver problems

No internet connection after a clean install

Download the Ethernet driver (or the Wi-Fi driver for your adapter) on another computer, copy it to a USB drive and install it first. Then continue with the rest of the list.

Yellow warning icons remain in Device Manager

Install the chipset package first, restart, and check again. If an item is still unknown, read its Hardware Ids and compare them with the hardware described in the notes above (card reader, fingerprint reader, mobile broadband modem).

Fn keys, brightness or volume keys do not respond

Install the Hotkey Features Integration package and restart. If the keys still do nothing, check the Fn lock setting in the BIOS setup screen.

Low screen resolution or sluggish graphics

Install the Intel graphics driver first, then the NVIDIA driver if your laptop has one, and restart after each. Windows falls back to a basic display driver until the Intel driver is installed.

The installer says no compatible device was found

This usually means a package for hardware that is not in your configuration, such as the NVIDIA driver on a laptop with Intel graphics only, a Wireless WAN driver without a modem, or the wrong Wi-Fi package for your adapter. Try the alternative package for that device.

Frequently asked questions

Which Windows versions does this ThinkPad T410 driver list cover?

It covers the packages Lenovo published for Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) and Windows 8 (32-bit and 64-bit). No packages for Windows 10 or Windows 11 are listed here, so on those versions let Windows Update install what it can and check Lenovo Support for anything that is missing.

How do I know if I need the 32-bit or 64-bit driver?

Open Control Panel, choose System, and read the System type line. Where a driver has separate 32-bit and 64-bit files, the table marks each one with a badge. Drivers without a badge are a single package for both.

Which graphics driver should I install?

Open Device Manager and expand Display adapters. If you see only Intel HD Graphics, install just the Intel driver. If you also see an NVIDIA entry, install the Intel driver first and the NVIDIA driver second. On Windows 7 Lenovo lists a standard NVIDIA package and an Optimus package. Use the Optimus one if your laptop switches between Intel and NVIDIA graphics automatically, and try the other if the installer refuses to run.

Which Wi-Fi driver do I need?

Expand Network adapters in Device Manager and read the wireless adapter name. Windows 7 has four Wi-Fi packages: two Intel packages, the ThinkPad 11b/g/n Mini-PCI Express adapter and the Intel WiMAX 6250 AGN card. Windows 8 has one Intel package plus the WiMAX card. Choose the one that matches the adapter shown.

What are the Wireless WAN drivers for?

They are for the optional mobile broadband (3G) modem, either a Leadcore 5730D or a Qualcomm Gobi 2000. If your ThinkPad has no SIM-card modem you do not need them.

Do I need the fingerprint, UltraNav and hotkey packages?

The Synaptics UltraNav driver covers the touchpad and the TrackPoint stick, so install it. The UltraNav Utility is optional. Install the Hotkey package if the Fn shortcuts do not work. The fingerprint software is only for ThinkPads that have a fingerprint reader.

Why is the Windows 8 list shorter than the Windows 7 list?

Lenovo lists fewer packages for Windows 8 and none for Intel graphics, Bluetooth, the camera or the card readers. Windows 8 includes its own drivers for some of these and Windows Update can supply others, so run Windows Update first and check Device Manager afterwards.

Are these download links safe?

Every Download button points to Lenovo's own download server at download.lenovo.com, and nothing is re-hosted on this site. After downloading, right-click the file, choose Properties and look for a Digital Signatures tab to confirm it is signed.

A download link does not work. What should I do?

Lenovo occasionally moves or retires older files, and the ThinkPad T410 is an older laptop. Search for the T410 on Lenovo Support, or leave a comment below so this page can be updated.

Is it safe to update the BIOS?

A BIOS update is safe when done carefully. Connect the AC adapter, close other programs and do not turn the laptop off or interrupt the update. Check your current version first by pressing Windows + R, typing msinfo32 and reading the BIOS Version line. Only update if you have a reason to, for example a problem the newer BIOS is meant to fix.
