Samsung NP-RV511I Drivers Download for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) & Windows XP (32-bit)

Samsung NP-RV511I notebook, driver download guide

Reinstalling Windows on a Samsung NP-RV511I? This guide lists the driver packages Samsung published for this notebook on Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) and Windows XP (32-bit), explains how to tell which ones your unit needs, and gives a safe install order. Every download link goes to a file on Samsung's own download center. We do not host or repackage any driver.

Quick answer
  • Windows 7: use the Windows 7 table. Pick the 64-bit or 32-bit link to match your system.
  • Windows XP: use the Windows XP table (32-bit only).
  • Windows 10 or 11: Samsung lists no official drivers for this model. See the FAQ.
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth differ by unit, so check which module you have first.

Before you start

  • Confirm your model. The label on the bottom of the laptop shows the exact model code. The RV511I was sold under regional codes such as NP-RV511I-EXP and NP-RV511-A01xx. The files below come from Samsung's NP-RV511I-EXP listing, so the same packages may not match every regional variant.
  • Check 32-bit or 64-bit. On Windows 7, open Start, right-click Computer, choose Properties, and read "System type".
  • Know the risks of old systems. Microsoft ended support for Windows XP in April 2014 and for Windows 7 in January 2020. Keep such a PC off sensitive accounts and use a current browser and antivirus where possible.
  • Back up first. Save your files before changing drivers or firmware.

Identify your hardware before downloading

Several drivers above are alternatives, and only one of each type fits your unit. Open Device Manager, right-click the device, choose Properties, then Details, then Hardware Ids. Match the vendor code to the table.

Hardware ID starts withVendorUse this Wi-Fi driver
PCI\VEN_8086IntelWi-Fi: Intel
PCI\VEN_14E4BroadcomWi-Fi: Broadcom
PCI\VEN_168CAtheros / Qualcomm AtherosWi-Fi: Atheros, or Qualcomm Atheros if the first does not detect the card

For Bluetooth, the Windows 7 list has two packages. By name, the "Intel High Speed" package is meant for Intel Bluetooth hardware and the standard Bluetooth package for the other module. Check the hardware ID the same way. For graphics, the Windows 7 package is for Intel graphics. If Device Manager shows an NVIDIA display adapter on Windows 7, Samsung's list above has no NVIDIA package for it, so search NVIDIA's legacy driver page for your adapter name.

Recommended install order

  1. Chipset
  2. Graphics (Intel on Windows 7, NVIDIA on Windows XP where applicable)
  3. Sound / audio
  4. LAN, then the Wi-Fi driver that matches your card
  5. Bluetooth
  6. Touchpad
  7. Intel Turbo Boost utility, if your processor supports it

Run each installer, restart when prompted, and only then move on. If a download is a ZIP, extract it first and run the setup file inside. Use the installer only if its file type matches what you expected (EXE or ZIP) and scan it with your antivirus.

Common Samsung NP-RV511I driver problems

No Wi-Fi after installing Windows

Connect by LAN cable, then check Device Manager for a network adapter with a yellow mark. Identify the vendor as described above and install the matching Wi-Fi driver for your Windows version.

No sound or microphone

Install the Sound driver for your Windows version and restart. If an "Unknown device" remains under Sound, video and game controllers, install the Chipset driver first and try again.

Bluetooth does not pair

Try the other Bluetooth package only after confirming it matches your module's hardware ID. Remove the failed driver in Device Manager first.

Screen resolution stuck low

The graphics driver is missing. Install the Chipset driver, then the graphics driver, and restart.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I download Samsung NP-RV511I drivers safely?

Use the links in the tables above, which go directly to Samsung's download center, or search your model code on Samsung Support. Avoid "driver updater" programs and repackaged installers.

Does the NP-RV511I support Windows 10?

Samsung's list for this model covers Windows 7 and Windows XP only. Windows 10 may install and run with Windows Update or generic drivers, but graphics, audio and wireless features may be limited. Test it on a spare drive first.

Which Wi-Fi driver do I need?

It depends on the card in your unit (Intel, Atheros, Qualcomm Atheros or Broadcom). Check the hardware ID as shown in the hardware section.

Is it safe to use Windows 7 or XP today?

Both are out of support and no longer receive security updates. They are fine for offline or low-risk use, but not recommended for banking or sensitive accounts.
