Before you start
- Check you have 64-bit Windows 10. Open Settings → System → About and read the System type. Every package here is for 64-bit.
- Install only what matches your laptop. The IdeaPad 520-15IKB was sold with different graphics, Wi-Fi, touchpad and fingerprint options, so not every package below applies to you. The notes under each driver say who needs it.
- Starting from a clean install? Download the Ethernet or Wi-Fi driver on another computer and copy it over on a USB drive, so you can get online first.
Heads-up: Microsoft has ended regular support for Windows 10, so it no longer receives standard security updates. If this laptop goes online, keep your antivirus current and avoid untrusted sites and downloads.

Recommended installation order
Installing in a sensible order avoids missing-device warnings and repeat reboots. Restart when an installer asks you to.
- Chipset: Intel chipset driver.
- Graphics: the Intel driver first, then the NVIDIA or AMD driver only if your laptop has that chip: graphics drivers.
- Audio: Realtek audio driver.
- Network: Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: network drivers.
- Touchpad: touchpad driver.
- Fingerprint reader: only if your laptop has one: fingerprint driver.
- Card reader: Realtek card reader driver.
- BIOS update: only if you need it, as a separate step, with the AC adapter connected and no other installer running: BIOS update.
How to identify the right drivers for your hardware
Open Device Manager (right-click the Start button and choose Device Manager). Then use these checks:
- Graphics: expand Display adapters. Intel graphics is always present. An NVIDIA or AMD entry next to it means you also need that driver.
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: expand Network adapters and Bluetooth. Lenovo's combined packages cover Intel, Realtek and Atheros, so you can install them without matching the maker. If there is no Bluetooth entry, skip the Bluetooth package.
- Touchpad: expand Mice and other pointing devices. Lenovo's touchpad package covers both Synaptics and Elan models.
- Fingerprint reader: look under Biometric devices. No entry and no sensor near the touchpad means you can skip the fingerprint driver.
- Card reader: it usually appears under System devices or Memory technology devices as a Realtek reader.
Tip: Anything marked with a yellow warning icon in Device Manager is a missing driver. Right-click it, open Properties → Details → Hardware Ids, and use those IDs to work out which package above it belongs to.
Troubleshooting common driver problems
No internet connection after a clean install
Download the Realtek LAN driver or the combined Wi-Fi driver on another computer, copy it to a USB drive and install it first. Then continue with the rest of the list.
Yellow warning icons remain in Device Manager
Install the chipset driver first, restart, and check again. If an item is still unknown, read its Hardware Ids and compare them with the hardware described in the notes above (card reader, fingerprint reader, Bluetooth module).
Low screen resolution or sluggish graphics
Install the Intel graphics driver first, then the NVIDIA or AMD driver if your laptop has one, and restart after each. Windows falls back to a basic display driver until the Intel driver is installed.
The touchpad gestures do not work
Install the touchpad driver and restart. Windows can run a basic pointer without it, but scrolling and multi-finger gestures need the Lenovo package.
The installer says no compatible device was found
This usually means a package for hardware that is not in your configuration, such as the NVIDIA driver on a laptop that has AMD graphics, or the fingerprint driver on a laptop without a reader. Check Device Manager and skip the packages you do not need.
Frequently asked questions
Which Windows version does this IdeaPad 520-15IKB driver list cover?
It covers the packages Lenovo published for 64-bit Windows 10. No 32-bit packages are listed. If you run Windows 11 or Windows 8.1, start with Windows Update and check Device Manager afterwards, because no packages for those versions are listed here.
How do I check that I have 64-bit Windows 10?
Open Settings, choose System and then About, and read the System type line. It should say 64-bit operating system. Every package on this page is for 64-bit Windows 10.
What does 520-15IKB mean?
It is the 15.6-inch IdeaPad 520 model, and the IKB part of the name marks the Intel-based variant. Different 520-15IKB laptops were sold with different graphics, Wi-Fi and touchpad hardware, which is why some packages below apply only to certain configurations.
Which graphics driver should I install?
Open Device Manager and expand Display adapters. Every configuration has Intel graphics, so install the Intel driver first. If you also see an NVIDIA entry, install the NVIDIA driver next. If you see an AMD entry, install the AMD driver instead. If you see only Intel, skip both.
Which Wi-Fi and Bluetooth driver do I need?
Lenovo lists one combined Wi-Fi package and one combined Bluetooth package, each covering Intel, Realtek and Atheros adapters, so you do not have to identify the maker. Skip the Bluetooth package if Device Manager shows no Bluetooth entry.
Why are some version numbers shown as "Not listed"?
Lenovo does not publish a version number for the combined Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and touchpad packages. They are still the files Lenovo links for this model.
Do I need the fingerprint driver?
Only if your laptop has a fingerprint reader. Look for a small sensor near the touchpad or an entry under Biometric devices in Device Manager. If neither exists, skip it.
Are these download links safe?
Every Download button points to Lenovo's own download server at download.lenovo.com, and nothing is re-hosted on this site. After downloading, right-click the file, choose Properties and look for a Digital Signatures tab to confirm it is signed.
A download link does not work. What should I do?
Lenovo occasionally moves or retires older files. Search for the IdeaPad 520-15IKB on Lenovo Support, or leave a comment below so this page can be updated.
Is it safe to update the BIOS?
A BIOS update is safe when done carefully. Connect the AC adapter, close other programs and do not turn the laptop off or interrupt the update. You can check your current version by pressing Windows + R, typing msinfo32 and reading the BIOS Version line. If it already shows 6JCN21WW, you do not need to run the update again.
