Originally published April 2, 2015 · Last reviewed and rewritten October 6, 2026

The Samsung NP300E4C is a 14-inch laptop from Samsung's 3 Series line, sold around 2012–2013 with Intel Core i3 and Core i5 processors. Samsung only published drivers for Windows XP and Windows 7 on this model, and those are the two systems this guide covers. Below you will find the driver list for each system, how to tell which Wi-Fi, graphics and Bluetooth package your particular unit needs, the correct installation order, and fixes for the problems people hit most often after a clean install.

Samsung NP300E4C at a glance

The NP300E4C was sold in several regional versions (for example NP300E4C-A01US, NP300E4C-A02US, NP300E4C-S04CN and NP300E4C-AD5BR), and the hardware differs a little between them. These are the specifications that are consistent across the listings I checked:

Display14-inch LED-backlit, 1366 × 768
ProcessorIntel Core i3 (for example i3-2350M or i3-2370M) or Core i5 (for example i5-3210M), depending on version
GraphicsIntel HD Graphics; some versions add a discrete NVIDIA GeForce 610M
MemoryDDR3 SO-DIMM, commonly 2–4 GB installed
Storage500 GB, 5400 RPM SATA hard drive
ConnectivityGigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SD card reader
Video & audio outHDMI, VGA, headphone and microphone jacks
WeightAbout 2.2 kg (4.85 lb)

Because Wi-Fi and graphics hardware changed between versions, you should not simply install every file in the lists below. The next section shows how to pick the right ones.

Before you download: check your model and Windows version

1. Confirm the exact model

Look at the label on the bottom of the laptop. It should read NP300E4C followed by a regional suffix. Samsung's driver files are grouped under the NP300E4C name, so any suffix works, but write it down in case you need to search for support later.

2. Check whether Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit (Windows 7)

Click Start, right-click Computer, choose Properties, and read the line System type. Drivers marked 32-bit will not install on a 64-bit system and vice versa. For Windows XP, Samsung lists one set of files, with no separate 64-bit XP package.

3. Identify your Wi-Fi adapter

Samsung lists three different wireless drivers for Windows 7 (Qualcomm Atheros, Intel and Atheros) and two for Windows XP (Atheros and Intel). Only one matches your hardware. Open Device Manager (press Win + R, type devmgmt.msc, press Enter), expand Network adapters and read the name of the wireless adapter. If it appears as an unknown device instead, right-click it, choose Properties → Details → Hardware Ids, and look at the vendor code: VEN_168C is Atheros/Qualcomm Atheros, VEN_8086 is Intel.

4. Check your graphics

If Device Manager under Display adapters lists both an Intel adapter and an NVIDIA GeForce adapter (or an unknown one after a clean install), your unit has switchable graphics and needs both graphics drivers. If it lists only Intel HD Graphics, skip the NVIDIA download.

Note on Windows versions: Microsoft ended support for Windows XP in April 2014 and for Windows 7 in January 2020, so neither system receives security updates. If you must run one of them, keep the laptop off untrusted networks or use it offline where possible. Samsung did not publish drivers for newer Windows versions on this page; on newer systems, let Windows Update install what it can first.

Windows 7 drivers (32-bit & 64-bit)

Pick the row that matches your Windows architecture and hardware. Rows that depend on hardware (graphics, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) say so in the notes. Samsung lists no separate webcam driver for Windows 7 on this model.

Installation order, step by step

On a freshly installed system, the order matters because later drivers depend on the chipset driver. A reliable sequence is:

  1. Create a restore point (Windows 7) or back up important files, so you can undo a bad install.
  2. Extract each ZIP file to its own folder. Right-click the file and choose Extract All.
  3. Install the chipset driver by running the Setup.exe inside the folder, then restart when asked.
  4. Install the Intel graphics driver, then, if your unit has a GeForce GPU, the NVIDIA driver. Restart again. After this, the screen should offer the full 1366 × 768 resolution.
  5. Install the LAN driver so you can get online with a cable if needed, then the Wi-Fi driver that matches your adapter.
  6. Install Bluetooth, audio and the TouchPad driver (and the webcam driver on Windows XP) in any order.
  7. Restart one last time, then open Device Manager and confirm that no device still shows a yellow warning icon.

Troubleshooting common problems

Wi-Fi driver installs but no networks appear

Check that the wireless switch or the Fn key combination for Wi-Fi has not turned the radio off. If the installer reports that no compatible device was found, you picked the wrong vendor package. Go back to the hardware ID check in the section above and use the other driver.

Screen is stuck at a low resolution or looks stretched

The generic Windows display driver is still active. Install the Intel graphics driver and restart. If your unit has two graphics adapters, make sure both appear under Display adapters afterwards.

No sound from the speakers

Install the audio driver, restart, and then right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and choose Playback devices. Make sure the speakers are set as the default device and are not disabled.

Touchpad scrolling or gestures do not work

Basic pointer movement works without a driver, but scrolling and tap settings need the TouchPad package. After installing it, open Control Panel → Mouse to adjust the options.

Bluetooth is missing from Device Manager

Install the Bluetooth driver and check that Bluetooth has not been switched off with the function keys. On Windows 7, if the Intel High Speed package refuses to install, try the standard Bluetooth package, and the other way around.

A driver installer will not start

Right-click the setup file and choose Run as administrator. If it still fails, make sure you downloaded the version for your 32-bit or 64-bit Windows.

Download safety and broken links

This page does not host any files. Every download button above points to the file name Samsung originally published for this model on its own download servers, and the version numbers shown are the ones Samsung listed. Samsung has since stopped making laptops in many markets and has reorganised its support pages over the years, so an old link may stop working at any time.

If a link no longer works: search for the exact file name (for example the chipset package) together with the words "Samsung NP300E4C", look for the model on Samsung's regional support site, or leave a comment below with the driver you need and the Windows version you are running and I will try to help.

Whichever source you use, download only from the manufacturer or a source you trust, scan the file with your antivirus before running it, and avoid any site that asks you to install a "driver updater" tool first.

FAQ

Which driver should I install first on the Samsung NP300E4C?

The chipset driver. It lets Windows recognise the motherboard components correctly, and the graphics, LAN, Wi-Fi and audio drivers behave better when it is already in place.

Can I use the Windows 7 drivers on Windows 8, 10 or 11?

Samsung did not publish drivers for those versions on this page. Let Windows Update install what it can first. Using the Windows 7 packages on a newer system may work for some devices, but it is not supported, so create a restore point before trying.

Which Wi-Fi driver is the right one for my laptop?

It depends on the adapter inside your unit. Check Device Manager as described above: Atheros or Qualcomm Atheros adapters use the Atheros-type drivers, and Intel adapters use the Intel driver.

Do I need the NVIDIA driver?

Only if your version of the laptop has a GeForce GPU, which shows up under Display adapters in Device Manager. Models with only Intel HD Graphics need just the Intel driver.

Can I use 4 GB of RAM or more on this laptop?

A 32-bit version of Windows (including every XP install) can address roughly 3 to 3.5 GB of RAM. To use all of 4 GB or more, install 64-bit Windows 7.
